I saw this homeless guy sleeping in the West Village
He was wearing a winter coat on a warm day in May
Many people briskly walked buy
Wishing they didn't have to step over the guy
It was sad
He had piss running down his leg
And he wore old high top sneakers with no laces
Which were bursting open from his swollen purple feet
Is that all we are, just nameless faces?
As I watched this poor bastard passed out in the street
I wanted to cry
But it left me with just more and more questions of…
Why?
